Now is the time for a m4/3 35mm compact

Obviously Nikon made a huge fail with their attempt at a fixed-lens premium compact. Nobody wants 28mm f/2.8 for $1100 and the rest of their specs are pretty bad as well. So there is now a great opportunity to take advantage of their error.

Imagine an Olympus XZ-100 with an E-P3 type body (but with flip-up screen), a fixed 17mm f/1.8 lens and a 4/3 sensor, it could be done for $699 (slightly less than $799 Canon G1 X due to prime lens, smaller sensor/body and no built-in Canon brand markup). I know for a fact that such a camera would be a huge seller given how popular the X100 was despite a much higher price and a lot of bugs and weird stuff from Fuji. This is the camera that could save Olympus from the brink of financial disaster.
