Which, if any of these or others apply that could drive down or drive up the price from that base in your opinion?

I have personally very little problems with the $1K-ish price of the DP Merrill cameras. I understand why it is in this region, and I am quite sure Sigma really cant lower it if they want to make any profit on the camera.

I said that if the DP1 is perceived as a compact camera, then the price might raise some eye brows. I also said that if it was e.g. $400, then most would accept it and not crave for any lower price. Therefore I think you made the poster an injustice, by claiming so was the case.

Now, all this is not really important, with all those posts and words.

Much more important is to decide if e.g. DP2M is a camera to own.
