IR sensitivity of various MFT cams with 720nm filter
Mar 3, 2013

FYI, I was curious as to whether there was a difference in how various MFT cams sensitivity varied if you stuck an IR filter onto a stock, unmodified camera.

Quick and dirty test:

12-35 set at 35mm f6.3 on all with a Hoya R72 filter screwed on.

All cameras set to ISO200 (whatever that really means ...)

pointed at the same piece of concrete paving slab illuminated by the sun. 2.30pm no real clouds (can't believe it) just some slight haze, and taken within min of each other, so the light wasn't changing.

Results:

GH3 > 60 sec (maxed out)

GH2 = 30 sec

G3 = 30 sec

G2 = 25 sec

G1 = 13 sec

GH1 = 6 sec

EM5 = 2.5 sec

The Em5 was done at the start, so since the figure was so different, I actually re-checked at the end and then triple checked with the 12-60 on - same result.

Enjoy
