My thoughts exactly, all purple orbs i get are clearly shaped like the aperture. This dismisses the theory of reflections forming up in front of it. Also the tests from Anders show it's clearly reflections with a specific wavelength, which really makes me think of either a rear element coating problem, and/or a sensor tuning that amplifies this wavelength specifically...

I'm getting purple splotches that are not orb shaped. For example (detail from larger image):
