For horizontal photos my favorite aspect ratio is 2.35:1 for prints, followed by 1:1. I often like 16:9 for viewing pics on a monitor, and sometimes I might like 5:4 too. But for vertical photos, I find 9:16 and 2:3 unacceptable unless it's a subject that suits such an extreme aspect ratio... I prefer 4:5, 3:4 or 1:1 for verticals.
