Aren't Aptina the sensor group with the technology that gives the very fast auto focus on sensor technology of the mirrorless Nikons? If so, this news item could be very important as it could result in much faster focussing Nex cameras with the DR of Sony. The Sony/Nikon links continue to grow.

I suspect that fast AF has more to do with lack of DoF out of the 1" sensor (the same reason that CDAF on tiny sensors is considerably faster than CDAF on DSLRs).
