My theory is: If one has the money buys the best, if you don’t just learn to be a better photographer with less costly camera. If the photographer is good can do great with a not so good camera. If the photographer is marginal will be no hope until he learns how to do it. If the photographer is good and with a nice camera his life will be much easy. Where I am going with this, curves and charts only indicate at given point the possible performance in perfect hands and nothing else. It is my opinion that every photographer needs to decide for the best choice based in real need, budget and goals. I had been seeing great work with very modest cameras and also horrible work with superb machines and everything in between. I posted some of my pictures done with the D2x, and if I take same pictures with my D3, D3s, or D800 and compare them with the chart you presented, reality will take place and the chart does not prove the difference in the actual printed photos. The chart is just a pure technical thing and the final picture is much more than that. Check Ansel Adams without the D4, He, He. I hope I make my point. Best regards: Oscar
