The lens / mount ensemble is tight usually, but mounting the lens in a hurry or in a occurred position can induce minor misalignment with the sensor plane. In some extreme cases I suppose this can be seen in the final image.
Under what circumstances can you improperly mount a lens on a modern camera and not get an error?
