To many Pixels is counter-productive!

Indeed. So why is there such opposition to those people getting more pixels?

I have yet to see a single high MP camera which does not allow you to set the output jpegs to substantially less pixels than the camera is capable of. A 96MP camera can be set to output 6MP images, and will not be noticeably slower when doing so.

Tell me, why doesn't that solve the "problem"? Why this insistence that cameras have to be limited in their maximum output because to some people "less pixels is better"?
