I remember those days. Sort of like, "photography is about the journey, not the destination."
Anyway, perhaps in the future you can choose the film grain size and exposure time in Photoshop for the RAWBIT file when running the digital film emulation algorithm. That is the new journey for those that want to take it. One could even display the digital development on the screen as it proceeds (slowed down for mortal viewing, of course).
