As a long time admirer of Edward Hopper's paintings, I've wanted to compose a photo in the style of his most iconic work, Nighthawks. I produced this photo in Paris yesterday. I hope you like it.

I appreciate your initiative which prompted many of us to indulge in a little excursion into the world of painting and I appreciate the result which is a more than appreciable interpretation. To my taste technically well executed.

However giving way to the temptation of playing the "art critic" I wish to add that the "message" of Hopper's paintings represented above is that of "isolation within" whereas your photograph depicts a "dehors" which is projected to the outside. Whatever happens inside the boulangerie is incumbered by the empty tables which dominate the scene.

And compliments for your courage in casting a "cultural" bait in the dark waters of this forum: you never know what will be at the end of the line when you retrieve!
