nikon 17-35mm f2.8

Now I have owned this lens in the past and somehow ended up with the 16-35mm and the 14-24mm(shoot both dx and fx).  I used the 14-24 to dickens and the jury is still out on whether I will keep it or not-----just moved amd will not be shooting architecture and in Northwest with a lot of rsin---but for a walk around I am just not happy with that long 16-35mm, in fact, trying to go a bit smaller.  Want a fairly fast FX lens to use on D700 for low light.

I really like the size of the 17-35, and even the look it gives but it's an expensive lens now, and a bit dated.  Anyone make the switch to go bqck and what was your experience---ron s.
