NX200 was the first model with this 20MP sensor but NX210 being a later model might have benefited from the same improvements as we see in NX20. At the very least it tells us that not all 20MP NX sensors (+ electronics) are the same and there is a possibility that later models including NX210 and NX300, NX30 could be getting improvements on the way.

hopefully this would be the case for the NX300. if the NX300 do indeed uses a new and updated sensor, the least possibility of which is that of the NX20 or NX210 with just an inclusion of phase detection and image engine, the improvement would be noticeably significant. that is good and seems to go with the competition as Sony still uses their same sensor on their NEX line cameras.

Assuming that sensor products are similar to other types of computer chips, I would assume that sensors in two different cameras are different until told specifically otherwise. I know a lot of people tend to assume that the same sensor is used over and over in different cameras for some arbitrary period on the order of months, for economy of scale reasons, but it is entirely possible for semiconductor chips to be sorted into different bins for different products just based on testing after manufacture. This is just one stage between design and delivery where the fork can occur. If I take 100 sensors with the same model number, test them and assign them to top 20% performance and bottom 80%, and put all of the top performing sensors into NX20, and all of the bottoms into NX200, it then does not matter if the sensor was actually updated, these are two different semiconductor products because all NX20 sensors are better than NX200 sensors. "Better performance" doesn't have to mean better noise - it could just mean that the chip can function with a different quality of power supply or that it does or does not exhibit a defect that shows up in only some chips due to manufacturing tolerances.
