Sorry, I meant an example of where the luminance noise on the X10 image makes the image worse than the X20 one. Or rather where the noise blurs away detail more than the heavy noise-reduction of the X20.

One of the benefits of that "Peppering" NR algorithm is that it creates larger homogeneous areas in between the pepper. You cannot get that kind of sharpening + noise-reduction from LR, which prefers the other (X10) way of either keeping more grain (reticulation in case of the X10) like noise or blurring it away all together.

But of course you can work on the X10 image to more get rid of the noise while trying to maintain the details. It can hardly get worse than what the heavy handed NR on the X20 JPG image did to the grass patches.
