It's been playing on my mind for a while now, so I bit the bullet and ordered one this afternoon.
No offence, but ... a lens cap has been playing on your mind for a while .....?
Im all about saving space and traveling as compact as possible. I dont use a UV filter or anything like that and always rely on a hood for both protection and, well, hood benefits. With this, I can keep my hood on all times and have a more compact system in my bag. Saves both time and space. Times are tough at the moment though and even £30 is money I have to consider when spending.
I'd have thought £30 v standard 'reversible' fitting hood/cap system was a no-brainer ... i.e. take camera out of bag - remove cap/hood & reverse/attach in position, go shoot ....
That's how I use mine - but hey, it's your money Ben!
Standard Hood:
1. Remove lens cap
2. Take off hood
3. Attach hood
Hoocap
1. Push
There is only one step with this aftermarket hood/cap and it stays on the lens, you don't have to deal with 2 extra pieces that could go missing.
Standard hood:
Buy a cap that fits over the hood.
Then it gets much more simple than spending $50 on a push-up b.. , eh hood:
1. remove cap,
2. shoot;
3. put cap back on.
