Nikon D600 vs. Canon 6D in Low Light?

I understand your pain with Nikon's current production quality issues perfectly: you've got the (S)mud(d)gy Waters blues ;-). But seriously, if I'd spend 2000 bucks for a new camera I'd expect it to perform without such a serious flaw. Imagine you buy a new car and it turns out that you have to put it frequently every four weeks into service! Would you accept that? Nikon should at least allow D600 users to clean its sensors and not lose warranty. But do you really want to waste a good part of your lifetime messing around with sensor cleaning fluid?

I am a Canon user (no fanboy, just a quite happy 5D3 user), so I do not want to write a biased post. All systems have its pros and cons, and you can always get a bad copy of a product. But I'd recommend you to rent a 6D/24-70 combo and test it in real life. If you are happier with it, change the system. If not, stick with Nikon and try to get another copy of a D600 if yours turns out to give you the smudge blues until your next upgrade.
