The noise seems quite terrible at 200 ISO:

even it stays acceptable for low iso shots, I am affraid that the 24MP resolution will suffer towards chroma noise and artifacts above 800 ISO, bringing the whole purpose of shooting high resolution shots only suitable for daylight / tripod work.

Funny. You seem to ignore two facts:

Other APS-C 24 MP cameras from Nikon received really good high ISO scores from DXOmark. D5200 which probably has the same chip as D7100 with the only difference that D7100 lacks one layer of filter, is the best of them all.

Which propably are close to the D3200 sensor too, which shows the same noise at 200 ISO in flat areas, and lacks colors after 800 ISO. (greyish shots)

You can make noise as pronounced as you want in post processing.

If noise is showing natively at 200 ISO it has nothing to do with post processing, what is your point ?

Ignoring facts always causes a lot of confusion and troubles.

this on based on personal experience and thousands of shots during concerts and weddings, ignoring real shooting conditions will cause lots of ignorance.
