I sold my D700 for 1700 with grip, if I recall. With all of the unhappy D800/D4/D600 posts, it's not a shocker to see the D700 commanding a lot of cash for a clean example.

The D700/D3/D3s remains Nikon's best DSLR designs IMHO.
