I don't have a V1 and probably won't get one, as less good for the keen photographer, too much stuff buried in menus, but I have a RX100 and the 1" sensor in that is great, better than my 12MP m43 by a long way (hence an m43 upgrade is fast approaching).

The problem is that most young children shots are done indoors and the Nikon 1 series uses CDAF in lower light.  So most of its advantages get lost in the environments you need it most.
