I got to admit it...the D7100 has killer specs and the price is right.

Will it force Canon to rethink the price of 7DmkII?

God I love it, when the competition enters new gear just before Canon does....Respond Canon, MAKE MY DAY!....I just destroyed my 50D

Competition is good, both for evolution of technology, and for us, the consumers. We get more for our money. However, the Canon L-series lenses are fantastic, and they have an extremely good reputation. I think Canon will continue to do its thing with not bothering about how the competition is pricing and/or speccing their cameras. Their L-series lenses is what is saving them.

I must say, they are quite arrogant. One example is the 10s. delay self timer. I have this one in my Rebel, but in the 5D2/3 you have to buy a separate remote trigger to get this function. Stupid, as it is only a software implementation. Also, compared to Nikon or Sony, Canon seems lower specced when comparing competing models. On the other hand, what Canon are delivering is quality I think. The specs may be lower than the competition but in the real world the Canon functions seems to work better than the supposedly superior specced competition.

Unless I am completely misunderstanding your example of Canon supposedly being arrogant, both the 5DII and 5DIII have 10s and 2s Self Timers built in. See page 113 of the 5DIII's manual which describes its operation.

I like Canon, but I think they should be careful and not be so arrogant. Tides do turn, and if they keep under speccing and over pricing I think they´ll loose customers in the long run.

I think you'll also find it's 'lose customers'.

What I´m trying to say is that Canon is gonna launch their cameras, not bothering about the specs of the Nikon D7100.

About the self timer, I just recalled a discussion at Canonrumors, where this was discussed, and people with 5D3 (or 1DX?) said they did not have this function. I might have been wrong.

"Lose/loose" customers.... a small error that turned out quite funny English is not my native language.
