Nice enough....no exif data I notice. I fail to see how those are any better than these, In fact they have a sort of odd HDR look to them in my opinion but I guess tastes vary.

Being that the scene range in these two shots are far less han 14 stops, you point has fallen flat. As well, it does not matter if the final output medium displays less than the capture medium in DR. That is why we compress the image and adjust tonal relationships.

Ansel adams wrote on this extensively. So has Bruce Barnbaum. I suggest you give the material a read. The comments you are making sounds a bit like that of an uniformed newbie. No offence intended, it just doesn't sound like you understand the topic at all.

Nice photos by the way. More often, the extra DR isn't needed....but only a very stubbornly biased person would claim that it isn't important when many of us find it is.

Gee thanks Dave, I own The Print, The Negative, and The Camera by Ansel. What would you suggest I add to my collection?

An understanding.

Hello, I seem to have lost you Dave. Since we have both read Ansel's The Print I will give you the honor of telling everyone what Ansel says the dynamic range of a print is...the stage is yours Dave.

You completely missed the point. If you have read the negative, you would understamd that the whole issue is about having a capture medium the can record all the brightness and tonal values present, and compressing them to the print. Ansels point, as is Barnbaum's, that SBR ranges even exceed b&w film...which exceeds any DSLR out there.

Go back and dont just read the book...understand the connection between capture and what goes on in creating a print.

You fell off the stage a while ago with the posts you made. It is clear that you only have a superficial understanding. You've got a long way to go before you will even be in the same theatre to lecture me.

I thought you were lecturing me Dave with your rank newbie comment (I assure you I am not a rank newbie)...so back to the subject. Since we are both well versed with Ansel, what does Ansel say the dynamic range of a print is?
