My laptop - Sony Z series - is overheating when I use it fairly intensively with photo software - PS and Photo Ninja in particular. It uses Windows 7 and periodically shuts down the PC due to stress.
I have tried swapping power supplies (although sticking with the Sony) but this seems to make no difference.
I installed a program to tell me my CPU temperature and this seems high - around 74 when in normal operation and rising to 85+ with intensive use.
I am about to take into a local shop in Bangkok that specializes in cooling systems. I read that it would probably be advisable to replace the thermal paste. I believe all the fans are working because they make quite a bit of noise.
Are there any other measures I could take with this laptop - install extra fans? change a heat sink?
