Your analysis is very good except that i disagree about the Nikon 1 system.  I think that they have found a nice niche.  The sensor is still huge compared to P&S and the lenses are smaller than M4/3.  If that system was out 2 years ago I might have gotten that instead of my E-pl2.

For any Mirrorless to Succeed, the formula is clear:
  1. Sensor Size must be M43 or larger (no Pentax Q or Nikon V1)
  2. FAST AF for single shot
  3. Price must be Reasonable
A failure in any one of these 3 criteria will hamper its sales. Nikon need to abandon its stupid 1" V1 and get with the APS-C mirrorless. Canon stand the best chance of challenging M43 / NEX....."IF" canon can improve its AF speed and lower its price in upcoming EOS-M2 this summer.
