I'm a professional studio photographer specializing in product photography and can say there is no one lens used. The Nikon 50mm 1.8G is a great lens to start with, after that a macro lens like the Pentax 120 f4 and then a Nikon 70-200 VR2 f2.8. For specialized assignments I use a Toyo 4x5 view camera adapted for the D800e with a Rodenstock 105 APO enlarging lens which I feel is the best possible solution for any product!
