We need fast PDAF and fast CDAF

That is the problem with on sensor PDAF. It only works in good light, just like with the Nikon 1 series. In low light it goes back to CDAF.
You need both fast PDAF for continuous AF in good light and fast CDAF for low light. PDAF cannot replace CDAF. They just complement each other. This is something both manufacturers and camera purchasers forget.
