K-01 was a pointless camera

No surprise here. Stupid concept won't get traction just because an over hyped chair designer is involved. Sticking with K-mount was a non-starter.  Too big and trying to CDAF a lens designed for PDAF will always fail.

I wonder about Canon - they got point that they needed a compact lens mount, but historically they cripple every new concept to "protect" their higher end stuff (remember the 300D). Of course all they do is create market opportunities for others, and in this case they are already very late to market. The M sort of seems like it is chasing the compact camera market down the drain, much like the Q. Perhaps the Nikon 1 as well, but they seem to have a chance at the higher end.

That leaves m43, NEX and Fuji as the only serious players I think. At least for now, things change with time oF course.
