I reviewed these Youtube videos - I have never seen the AF points NOT light up like this; I have no explanation for it. Perhaps there's a setting that they (and you) had turned off? Mine has always been consistent with Endos' link since day 1 right out of the box.

Shrug.

My 1D X does that when I set it to "servo" AF... in "single shot" AF the point(s) that are in focus light up
