As good as the GF-1 may have been when it came out - and no, I'll never get rid of mine - you'd be well advised to consider another m43 body if this is to come as a replacement of a DSLR. It's not that the autofocus is bad, for a mirorless which came out nearly 3 years ago it's actually pretty good, but you will find it sluggish believe me.
If you don't want to go for the E-M5 - I have one, it's a great camera as you probably know - I hear that the G5 is a very good value body. I would avoid the G3 altogether far too plasticky. The GF-1 can be great for street and social but believe me coming from the DSLR world (I also awn a Pentax K5 by the way) you will be frustrated by its AF.
