Sticking with the Australian wildlife theme of my post from last week, here's a little series of a wallaby and her joey which gives a pretty good idea of how a marsupial's pouch works. It always amazes me how the joeys can squeeze in even when they're getting pretty big. Taken at the Bunya Mountains National Park.

The chaser is a couple of shots of another curious Australian critter called an echidna taken in my in-laws' back yard. One of only 2 egg-laying mammals in the world (the other being the duck-billed platypus).
