Obviously there were no video games.

Yet my friends and I killed each other off, ten times a day, with bean shooters, carpet guns, water guns, whatever. And I remember that while playing these games, I WAS at war, killing the bad guys, or being killed by the bad guys.

These games were far more "realistic" then anything that you play on video.

Even so, only five or six of us went on to become mass murderers...

"Wanna play war?" Lord, how many times did I and my friends utter that phrase? Fortunately, we didn't have to worry about the difficult logistics of real combat since our battlefield never ranged over more than a couple of blocks. I "learned" most of what I knew from the comic book, "Sergeant Rock."

P. S. We used only fully automatic weapons. Come to think of it...that's the first and last time I ever used one. The shell casings in that neighborhood would have been up to the 2nd story windows. (Sorry to disappoint some of you who are convinced that America harbors only actual murderers and soon-to-be actual murderers.)

We all played "war" growing up but those games are NOTHING compared to what kids play on X-Box today. Realistic and mind blowing experience.

it is an ENTERTAINMENT same as watching RAMBO movies....kids who are affected by violent games are stupid or has a low self esteem to be begin with.
