The P7100 camera has a very good in-camera processing facility for raw shots.  It's easy, quick and effective.

I shoot in raw, upload my images to ViewNX 2 where they are displayed at default settings.  I make a judgement about those default images and make new jpegs in-camera of the images I wish to keep making what adjustments I think are appropriate to contrast, saturation etc.

In-camera processing covers all you need: +/- exposure, WB, Picture Control, Active D-Lighting, Distortion Control, Fine/Normal/Basic Image Quality, Image Size.

No need for other software, honestly.

If you haven't tried the in-camera processing, give it a go, you've nothing to lose and might be pleasantly surprised.
