Oh, no doubt the 800 would be the ideal just for the feature set as I described my needs. But lugging that camera and the associated lenses just doesn't interest me anymore. Additionally, I don't want to give Canikon anymore of my money for theses high end cameras. I still firmly believe their prices are inflated, significantly. These if folks keep purchasing them, they don't have any reason to innovate and develop cameras and lenses in a smaller form factor. That said, it really doesn't matter if they do or not, as long as we have choices in the systems that suit us best. I recently sold an older model car in good working condition. It sold for less than the what a Nikon 800 cost.
