Andrew you are right, this is from my archives. In the middle of the winter it is sometimes nice to remember the beautiful summer days.

We can say that today was the first day we can see that the winter will end and the spring come at last. We had sunshine all day long. This is the time of the year when differences between day and night temperatures are the largest. If the sky is clear the night temperature can drop down to -20 C...-25 C while during daytime it can rise to + 5 C...+10 C. Last 2 1/2 months have been the cloudiest season for 25 years in the southern Finland, we have had only 50 hours sunshine during that period. We have 70 cm snow here in Helsinki area, it smelts away in the late April, however in Lappland the lakes will be free from ice 1 week before Midsummer (summer solstice).
