Just curious, why wouldn't you just use manual focus set to infinity?

Great shots. Sometimes the jets appear out of nowhere and you can't even get the camera up in time. The Blue Angels always do it with one of the solo pilots coming from behind the crowd at very high speed, very very low. You don't hear it until its passing right over the top of you...
