A rumor

Sony have painted themselves into a corner by producing a SLT full frame camera. The loss of light due to using a permanent translucent mirror produces more sensor noise which would greatly disadvantage a 36MP SLT when compared to a more conventional Nikon D800 or D800E.

In addition Sony have made a mistake in the high pricing of the A99 , a 36MP Sony SLT would have to be priced even higher & this would cause a wholesale exodus from the Sony camp.

Judging from Sonys latest pricing strategy it would seem to suggest that Sony think that they have reached sufficient status in the Pro camp for this approach to be acceptable but I strongly doubt that this is the case. I could be wrong , only time will tell ........
