The Nikon is, as expected, excellent in these conditions with not too much noise and ability to focus fast.

I wonder therefore, just how good the Panasonic is in poor light, with high ISO and where focus has to be relatively fast.

Well, the D700 has a 32x larger sensor, which can be translated to 5 stops better high iSO performance, so the FZ200 will have app. the same noise at ISO 3200 as the D700 has at ISO 102,400.
