Yellow Rump

I commented to Messier Object last week about his picture of a Yellow Rumped Thornbill that it reminded me of our Yellow Rumped Warbler. They are apparently not related but seem to have evolved with similar physical characteristics. Anyway, I believe that I said that the Warbler wintered here but that I thought I had seen him into spring. On going back through older photographs I find that I've never photographed him anytime except in February.

I first saw this bird along the Flint River and then in my yard. Here he is from last year

I haven't been back to look along the Flint as this winter's rains took the river out of its banks and washed away the bridges to the trails. But he did show up on demand this week in my yard

Of course the attraction was the peanut butter

I hadn't intended this but when the Warbler showed up this week I couldn't refuse him some time here. We appreciate your spending time looking at these pictures....
