Very nice Owls, Sttweston. They very special creatures and often very difficult to see and photograph. Hope to see you next week, may be just the two of us:)

Unlike owls, it's easy to find Hawks around here, especially Red-Tailed Hawks, and they are fairly tolerant. The first two pics are of an extremely tolerant juvenile Red-Tailed Hawk that was along a country road on a short post. Usually they are sitting on telephone poles or in high trees. Taken from car. I had to unzoom to get the full bird.

The third pic is an adult Cooper's Hawk in my backyard. A couple times a year a Cooper's or the very similar Sharp-Shinned will visit. I'm identifying this as a Cooper's based on the head and bill. A Sharp-Shinned Hawk has a more rounded head with its bill coming out at more of an angle. Taken through double pane window. Only pp was to increase contrast a little to head and shoulders.

All taken with the FZ200 + Nikon TC-E17ED.
