John, the bulk of these shots are hand-held with a few (the moon shot) off the monopod. Using the triipod negates the weight saving of the mirror lens.

BIFs are all hand-held as are the static birds

I'm finding MF with this combination suprisingly easy and there is a noticeable change in appearance in the EVF as focus is achieved (still only around 10% keepers so far though - I need more practise )

Mine is the one with the tripod too
