I was trying to learn more about underwater cases and on www.divephotoguide.com it says point and shoot underwater housings usually have O rings of silicone rubber.
Is this the same as silicone?
Yes, it is one and the same. It’s quite common for this application but not necessarily the best either. It has good water resistivity and tolerance to extreme temperatures way beyond a diver’s needs but it also gouges easily hence why you received a removal tool.
