That has been my experience with the 25mm Biogon too...MAJOR smearing in the corners. My experience was so bad that it was a major disappointment for me as I was hoping to use wide angle M glass on the XPro.
With that said, I just looked at Chris's next post and the corners with the 12mm aren't anywhere near as bad as the Zeiss....which is weird since obviously the Voigtlander 12mm is much wider than the Zeiss 25mm.
