What settings would be required to capture a half decent picture of the milky way on a NEX?

On NEX if you use the nomial focal length of a lens (that never changes ...) and divide 400 by that length you see how many seconds will not show star trails.

On the NEX all lenses obey the 400 rule, while on 35mm film and FF sensors they obey that 600 rule.

Clear now? Or still confused?
