Framing spacer question
Feb 22, 2013

I've been framing prints with matts for years and would like to start framing prints without matts using a printed frame on the paper. I've always believed one of the reasons for using matts is to space the print away from the glass. Going mattless puts the prints right against the glass. I'm worried about the print sticking to the glass and damaging the print.

1. Is my concern justified?  I do wait 24 hours after printing to allow the print to dry and outgas.

2. Are there spacers available that would separate the glass and print that could be put into the edge of the frame. And where would you buy these?  I've gone to a few of my matt suppliers and looked up spacers and what comes up isn't recognizable as what I want.
