There is no way the current XE1 sensor can resolve fine detail like that. Look at the trees in the background you can see sharply defined individual branches.

I love my XE1 but if I took a shot of that same scene those branches would not be resolved at all.

Rumour is a Nikon compact mirrorless is coming soon. But that could be later.

Agree with that, ist impresive! But have you checked the lens that is used in this sample? Nikkor 70-200mm f/4... i wonder if a Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6 is able to preserve same details and overall IQ. I doubt. Using huge end expensive lenses in a DX body its not a bad thing, juts dont fit to enerybody's needs.
