Tell us: your worst cities in the world for photography?

Traveled a lot in the last ten years and most experiences have been very positive. But two exceptions:
1 - Buenos Aires (2007) was the worst. With only a P&S, I was told by no fewer than four people, including a cop, to put the camera away, that it would attract thugs. Felt uncomfortable there (especially after witnessing brutal street violence one night near my B&B).
2 - Marrakech (2009), in the main souk, could not put the camera (DSLR) to my eye without people yelling, “no photo, no photo.” A friend was there two months ago and now they apparently demand dirham for a photo. I haven’t noticed this in any other Arab city including in Morocco.
