Re: Lens adapters?
In reply to Russel Wasserfall, Feb 22, 2013

I am taking delivery of an X Pro today. I have already purchased a HAWK's Factory adapter with Helicoid primarily because I enjoy the close focusing of SLR camera lenses. But, even older, smaller SLR lenses are large (until about 50mm) compared to SLR lenses.

So, my hawk's adapter is for Leica M glass to X mount.

I use M39 lenses, though I will probably also pick up a metabones Nikon to X adapter as I really want to evaluate if I will keep my Nikon SLR.

Almost any lens can be adapted to the X. Some adapters (like the Hawk's) are of poor quality; some are made of first-rate materials. Generally (again, not in the case of Hawk's), you get what you pay for. Metabones use chromium and steel. Hawk's use aluminium. One will last as long as the lens you adapt. One will have to be replaced possibly multiple times.

Enjoy.
