I suspect because Panasonic got trumpet by the Oly E-M5.
The E-M5 was released several months prior to the G5. The E-M5 is basically twice the price of the G5. The image quality edge goes to the E-M5 but, not by much. The G5 has the ergonomics edge.
If the G5 had been released six months earlier, I suspect G5 sales numbers would be substantially higher than they have been.
