As you noted, keeping the ISO down should take care of the 20mm banding on the OM-D (I rarely noticed it on mine - maybe twice in hundreds of shots). The 7-14 is problematic - it can be awesome, but any situation where you have a sharply-delineated area in the frame that is MUCH brighter than everything else (like a sunlit window in a relatively low-light room), the purple blobs are likely to show up. I bought and sold a 7-14 last year and tried to live without it, but ended up buying a G5 and second copy of the lens recently. They'll be staying together in my bag for the foreseeable future as a complement to my OM-Ds.
