In crop mode? You mean the additional 1.3x crop? I don't know why that would constitute a need for more buffer zone, perhaps because more would use it for birding, however that doesn't say much, it still demonstrates the short comings. Smaller files will of course take longer to fill the buffer. I'm not trying to be a douche, apologies if it comes that way, but if Nikon had made the buffer 15-20 (esp. given the price of memory) they would have a serious, serious camera.

I know people are looking at this as the sign that the D400 is coming but I'm hesitant to rely on rumours or water cooler talk when it comes to MNC. It will be interesting to see how Canon responds, hopefully in a similar fashion with the 7D buffer.
