7100 for High Res Landscapes?

In thinking about the 7100s attributes compared to my current D800 with D7000 backup main kit, something came to mind: Might the 7100 be a great camera for high resolution landscape stitching?

It has fairly high resolution per shot, and should have very good per pixel sharpness without the AA filter. When attached to pro FX glass, unlike the 800, it will be making use of only the very best part of the lens, avoiding vignetting and most corner softness. I would think that a 15-30 shot stitch using a medium length prime lens could produce a heck of a lot of detail with good consistency across the frame.
